Harry, a young theatre actor at 21, initially gained recognition for his exceptional comedic skills, physicality, and timing. This talent soon led to a diverse range of roles that required a unique blend of drama and comedy, as well as a versatility that encompassed multiple disciplines.
Throughout his long-standing career, Harry has played a wide variety of characters, including an asylum seeker struggling with aphasia, a Neo-Nazi in training, a member of the renowned close harmony group Comedian Harmonists, a father to an invalid son, and a high-brow intellectual teacher. This diverse range of roles has contributed to the richness and depth of his body of work.
In 2004, Harry landed the role that would make him a household name for over a decade, playing the lovable Mr. van Dalen in the most successful commercial campaign in the Netherlands for Albert Heyn. This campaign was awarded twice, first for best and most effective commercial campaign, and then for his farewell commercial, which showcased a compilation of the most humorous and touching moments.
In addition to his commercial work, Harry has produced and starred in several solo theatre shows, including "Unknown," "Man on Ladder with Lamp," and "Hoogvlieger," which tells the story of Icarus and his brilliant but unknown father, Daedalus. He has also starred in the theatre marathon adaptation of the TV hit-series "Borgen," playing the ultra-right politician Svend Saltum.
As of fall 2018, Harry has been alternating between theatre, TV, and film, while preparing for a TV program that is set to premiere in February 2019.
