Biography

Harry Melling embarked on a remarkable acting journey at the tender age of 10, landing the iconic role of Dudley Dursley in the beloved Harry Potter film series.

As he entered his teenage years, Melling joined the esteemed National Youth Theatre, where he showcased his talents in a variety of productions, including a captivating performance in "The Master and Margarita".

At the age of 18, Melling enrolled at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA),but his time there was cut short when he was offered the opportunity to join the company of "Mother Courage and Her Children" at the National Theatre, alongside his on-screen mother, the accomplished Fiona Shaw.

This experience marked the beginning of a long and illustrious theatre career, which would go on to include notable roles in Harold Pinter's "The Hothouse", the Old Vic Theatre's production of "King Lear" opposite the iconic Glenda Jackson, and the lead in the West End transfer of the hit show "Hand to God".

In 2017, Melling's talents caught the attention of the Coen Brothers, who offered him a role in their new film, "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs", which premiered at the prestigious Venice Film Festival.
