Hamza Haq, a talented Canadian actor, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. He was named one of Canada's Rising Stars by The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 and has since received numerous accolades for his performances.
Hamza's most notable role is as Bashir "Bash" Hamed in the CTV medical drama TRANSPLANT, for which he has won three consecutive Canadian Screen Awards for Best Lead Actor. The show follows an ER doctor who fled his native Syria to come to Canada and overcome numerous obstacles to resume his career in emergency medicine.
On the big screen, Hamza has starred in several films, including QUEEN OF MY DREAMS, WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN, VIKING, MY SALINGER YEAR, and DELIA's GONE. He has also appeared in several television shows, including BON COP BAD COP 2, THE DEATH AND LIFE OF JOHN F. DONOVAN, MOTHER!, and INDIAN DETECTIVE.
In 2023, Hamza starred in the critically acclaimed Saudi Arabian Netflix hit CRASHING EID and appeared in the Netflix mini-series INDIAN DETECTIVE alongside William Shatner and Russell Peters. Born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents, Hamza moved to Canada with his family at the age of nine and has called it home ever since. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies with a minor in Law from Carleton University.
