Biography

Hala Aldosari is a distinguished visiting scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, where she dedicates her expertise to the pivotal issue of women's rights development in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.

Her academic credentials are impressive, having earned a PhD in health services research from Old Dominion University, with a focus on the epidemiology of violence against women and its detrimental health consequences in Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, she obtained her MSc in medical science from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom.

Throughout her professional career, Aldosari has worn multiple hats, serving as a medical scientist, lecturer, and administrator in the Saudi health and education sector. Her consulting expertise has been sought after by the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia, where she has contributed to the research and planning of the country's national health policy and services.

In 2015, she completed a prestigious fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, concentrating on the social determinants of women's health and violence against women. Currently, she directs and maintains a women's rights advocacy project online, aminah.org, and actively participates in advocacy efforts and community capacity building initiatives aimed at promoting women's rights and empowerment in Saudi Arabia.
