Biography

Gwynyth Walsh was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, but her early life was spent in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she would later establish a strong connection with the city. Walsh's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Alberta, which served as a solid foundation for her future career in the performing arts.

Walsh began her career on stage, appearing in numerous productions across Canada and the United States, showcasing her talent in a variety of classic plays. One of her most notable performances was in William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing", for which she won a Dramalogue Award in the Best Actress Category for her portrayal of Beatrice.

Walsh is perhaps best recognized for her recurring role as the Klingon B'Etor, sister of Lursa, from the House of Duras in various versions of Star Trek, excluding Star Trek: Voyager (1995) and Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). She also appeared in the feature-length film Star Trek: Generations (1994).

However, it's worth noting that she did not play the Klingon B'Etor in the Star Trek: Voyager (1995) episode "Random Thoughts" (1997). In 1993, Walsh starred in the psychological thriller "The Crush" (1993),where her husband was played by Kurtwood Smith.

In 1998, Walsh began another notable role as Dr. Patricia Da Vinci, a City of Vancouver Coroner's Pathologist, and ex-wife of the title character, Dominic Da Vinci, in the award-winning television series "Da Vinci's Inquest" (1998). In 2002, she appeared in the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries "Taken" (2002),alongside Matt Frewer, Anton Yelchin, Rob LaBelle, and Brian Markinson.

Walsh has been a part of many popular dramas and sci-fi series in both Canada and the United States, including "Stargate SG-1" (1997),"Supernatural" (2005),and "Smallville" (2001). In 2006, she played Esther Heyman in the well-regarded A&E film "Flight 93" (2006),which told the story of the ill-fated 9-11 Flight 93. The same year, she appeared in the critically acclaimed television series "Commander in Chief" (2005),starring Geena Davis as the President.

The following year, Walsh played a role in the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries "Tin Man" (2007),a retelling of "The Wizard of Oz". She continues to be a busy and in-demand actress, dividing her time between Los Angeles and Vancouver.
