Gregory Marquette, a Canadian native, has made a name for himself in Hollywood, boasting an impressive background in network television across Canada, Britain, and the United States. His extensive experience includes working as a Producer, Writer, and Television Director for esteemed networks such as CTV, BBC London, CBC, and the Global Television Network.
Marquette's educational background is rooted in the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT),where he began his career in television journalism, later transitioning to series drama and television variety. He went on to form the successful film production company Polaris Entertainment Corporation, which he ran for eight years, producing television commercials, film, and television products.
Throughout his illustrious career, Marquette has produced, directed, and/or written for a wide range of television and motion pictures, documentaries, and national television commercials. As a television commercial Director & Director Of Photography, his clients included prominent brands such as Shell Oil, Seagram's, General Motors, General Foods, Canadian Airlines, Dodge, Boeing, McDonald's, AXA/Equitable Insurance, Swiss Telecom, Mobil Oil, and numerous international advertising agencies.
In Hollywood, Marquette primarily works as a screenwriter and/or director-screenwriter, having written commissioned screenplays for production companies, producers, and directors. Prior to his full-time writing career, he wrote and directed the film Innocents (2002),starring Connie Nielsen, Anne Archer, Frank Langella, Mia Kirshner, Robert Culp, and Jean-Hugues Anglade, Keith David.
Marquette has also directed documentary pieces about Vietnam, featuring Oliver Stone and Ed Harris, and shot the science fiction motion picture Monarch of the Moon for Darkhorse Entertainment and Millennium Films, as well as additional effects photography for the motion picture Goose on the Loose, starring Chevy Chase and James Purefoy. He was director of photography (2nd unit) and director, as well as director of photography for the aerial unit, for the film BOBBY Z, starring Paul Walker and Larry Fishburne.
Marquette was under contract with Boss Films, where he shot the Disney/Lucasfilm venue/theme park film of Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. He is currently preparing to direct his motion picture BODY AND SOUL, the life story of jazz singer Billie Holiday, this fall. His screenplay Obathe Last Samurai is currently in pre-production in Japan.
