Gregg Simon, a native New Yorker, relocated to Los Angeles to establish his directing career. He began by directing and producing 2nd Unit for various high-profile pilots and series, including Hemlock Grove on Netflix, House M.D. on Fox, The Cape on NBC, Past Life on Fox, and K-Ville on Fox.
As he gained experience, Simon earned a reputation as a problem-solver, becoming a go-to "fixer" for showrunners and producers when challenges seemed insurmountable. His talent and cinematic approach led him to direct a standout episode in Season Two of Dominion on Syfy, which was praised by producers, the studio, and the network for being "extremely cinematic, well-conceived, and visually distinctive."
In recognition of his work, Universal Cable Productions granted Simon an additional budget to create a Special Extended Director's Cut, the first officially released director's cut of a television episode.
Following his success on Dominion, Simon was sought after by studios and networks to direct and produce episodes of All American on WBTV, Rosewood on Fox, and Blood Drive on Syfy.
In 2023, Simon's indie horror/thriller feature Captive was released as a Tubi Original in the U.S. and on Amazon in the U.K.
In 2025, Simon is gearing up to shoot his next feature, the upcoming indie neo-noir crime thriller THE PATIENCE OF VULTURES, starring Ed Skrein and Luis Guzman. The film is being produced by Mandalay Pictures and All Trades Content, with WME Independent and XYZ Films co-handling domestic sales, and Pulsar Content managing international distribution.
