Greg Poppleton's professional journey began in the heavy industry sector before he transitioned to pursue a career in acting.
His acting career took off when he was discovered at a cattle call for a children's program, making his film debut in a notable scene alongside Nicole Kidman in the 2001 movie Moulin Rouge!. Since then, he has shared the screen with notable actors such as Adrien Brody and John Goodman.
On television, Greg has appeared in a range of series, including Barons (ABC),The Last Days of the Space Age (Disney+),Year Of (Stan),and many more.
On stage, Greg has taken on diverse roles, including the lead in Arthur Miller's 'All My Sons', the Greek philosopher Soptoros, and John Stark, Scott Joplin's manager, in a one-man show accompanied by a ragtime orchestra.
Greg was born in Sydney, Australia, as the fourth of five children to Bert, a bus driver, and Aileen (Stapleton),a shop worker. He is of English and Irish ancestry.
Prior to his acting career, Greg earned an honors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma in Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney.
In his personal life, Greg is married with two sons.
