Biography

Greg Finley was born into the spotlight in 1947, the son of the late Los Angeles television and radio personality Larry Finley and cousin to the late writer/producer Rod Serling. At the age of sixty-two, Finley would have been content with his successful career as a top Hollywood theatrical voice-over artist, having worked on over two thousand, five hundred movies and TV programs throughout the years.

However, Finley had other plans. He wanted to return to the camera and revive his "on-camera" career, which had been successful in the early 1980s. Finley's journey began after graduating from Beverly Hills High School, where he joined the Army and rose to the rank of Captain. He spent eighteen months in Vietnam in Special Forces before returning to the United States.

After his military service, Finley married a widow with four daughters and settled into his life by selling automobiles in northern California. Two years later, his son Guy was born. However, his marriage dissolved, and he moved back to the Southland to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor.

Finley's writing and voice-over career began in 1981 as a writer/director on the syndicated animated television series, "Robotech." He remarried in 1982 and had another son, Garrett, in 1983, around the time his voice-over career took off. Over the next twenty-five years, Finley wrote hundreds of news reports, sports broadcasts, and weather spots for group ADR and performed them in thousands of TV shows and films.

Despite starting a "new" career in his early sixties, Finley was confident in his abilities. He had kept his acting chops strong by working on the ADR/looping stage and in Community Theater. Finley was active as a past board member and President with his local Community Theater and had been married to his wife Patti for twenty-seven years. He was still close to all of his children and continued to work as a voice-over actor. Finley was now acting and directing on stage and looked forward to hearing the words "Roll camera, marker, speed, and action!" on set.
