Grainger Hines is a seasoned actor with a diverse career spanning across film, television, and theatre. His journey began in 1980 with his first play in New York City, "Valentine's Day," written and directed by Horton Foote at the HB Playwrights Foundation.

In Los Angeles, he made his mark with the US premiere of Loleh Bellon's "Thursday's Girls" alongside Lynn Redgrave at the Cornet Theatre. He has since appeared in numerous productions in New York and Los Angeles, including "Fool for Love," "Hedda Gabler," "A Rainbow in the Night," "One Last Ride," and "Geography of a Horse Dreamer."

Hines' television credits include "Dr. Death," "The Good Lord Bird," and Steven Soderbergh's "The Knick" (2014). He also played the role of Mr. Arthur in Joel and Ethan Coen's anthology western film "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs." In Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" (2012),he portrayed Gideon Welles, the Secretary of the Navy.

Recently, Hines has been involved in several film projects, including "Long Shadows," which he acted in, co-wrote, and produced. He has also completed films such as "Killing of a Nation," "Love Bomb," "Martin Eden," and "Muzzle."
