In the 6th grade, Grae, affectionately known as Ms. Moviefone, embarked on an endeavor to organize movie outings for her friends, taking on the responsibility of selecting the film. This early interest in cinema continued to flourish as she pursued a thorough study of film at the University of Texas at Austin.
Throughout her academic journey, Grae's passion for film was recognized and celebrated, earning her prestigious honors from Sundance and the Director's Guild of America. As a filmmaker in Los Angeles, she honed her craft, eventually coming to a profound realization - her inability to keep her opinions to herself.
This epiphany served as the catalyst for the creation of The Popcorn Mafia podcast, a platform where Grae could freely share her thoughts and opinions on the world of cinema. Her success on the podcast led to her appointment as CNN's movie critic, a position she held for several years. Additionally, Grae served as the Senior Editor of Rotten Tomatoes, bringing her expertise to the forefront of the film industry.
Grae's expertise and charismatic personality have also made her a sought-after guest on various television programs, including HLN's Weekend Express, ABC World News Now, The Today Show, The View, and Fox News. Her passionate thoughts on film can also be heard on terrestrial radio stations across North America.
Despite her numerous accomplishments, Grae still retains her initial stance - she refuses to let others choose the movies, insisting on taking the reins herself.
