Grace Jane Gummer is an American actress born on May 9, 1986, in New York City. She is the daughter of actress Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer. Gummer grew up in Los Angeles and Connecticut with her siblings, including musician Henry Gummer, actress Mamie Gummer, and model Louisa Jacobson.
Gummer made her stage debut in 2008 in Lukas Bärfuss's The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents and later graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Art History and Italian. She appeared in several films and television shows, including The House of the Spirits, Meskada, Bashert, Larry Crowne, and Smash.
Gummer also had recurring roles in The Newsroom and American Horror Story: Freak Show. She starred alongside Halle Berry on the CBS show Extant and joined the cast of the HBO series The Newsroom in its second season. In 2016, Gummer joined the cast of the USA Network series Mr. Robot as a series regular and co-starred in the action-thriller Beast of Burden opposite Daniel Radcliffe and Laurence Fishburne.
