Glenn Salvage was born in 1975 and grew up in Brighton, England. He had a happy childhood with his father, a painter and decorator, and his mother, a hairdresser, as well as a brother. However, he was not enthusiastic about school life and actively disliked drama classes due to his shyness and lack of desire to perform.
Despite his initial reluctance, Salvage was introduced to media students Ross Boyask and Philip Hobden in 1993, who were looking for a martial arts actor to appear in a short film called The Gauntlet. This connection led to him working on several short films between 1993 and 2000, eventually taking the lead role in Left for Dead in 2003.
Salvage also worked on his first film with director Howard J. Ford in 1993, playing a pub extra in Mainline Run. He spent the next few years gathering experience through small roles and eventually graduated to speaking lines. He discovered he enjoyed being on camera and developing his acting skills.
A larger role came in 1999 in Distant Shadow, where he played a government agent. He continued to work on small non-speaking parts for UK television programs, such as Identity and Being Human. However, he remained frustrated with not being able to showcase his skills as an actor and fight performer.
Salvage continued to work with Howard J. Ford on The Dead in 2010, playing a mercenary fighting in Africa. The film won awards and was commercially released. He also played a gang member in Vendetta in 2013, starring alongside Danny Dyer.
In 2014, Salvage starred in Never Let Go, which was released in the UK by Icon Films in 2016 and in the USA by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in 2017. The film won the National Film Award for best independent film. He also took the title role in Aux in 2016, working with veteran actor John Rhys Davies.
Salvage played the part of Jez in Essex Heist in 2016, which was specially written for him by Steve Lawson. The DVD of the film went straight to No. 1 in the HMV DVD charts. He has also been shooting Beyond Fury with Darren Ward, starring Italian horror legend Giovanni Lombardo Radice, for UK distribution in 2018.
In addition to his work as an actor, Salvage has been a supportive mentor working in mental health, providing inspiration, direction, and technical advice to creative people looking to express themselves through film and animation.
