Biography

Gisela Adisa is a talented American actress with a rich cultural heritage, being born to Caribbean and West African immigrant parents. She has made New York City her home since graduating from Fordham University's Lincoln Center College of the Arts, where she honed her craft and began her extensive career in theatre.

After transitioning to film and television, Adisa landed notable roles in several projects. She played Sandra opposite Michelle Monaghan and Morgan Spector in the Sundance Dramatic Award-winning film 'Nanny', and took on the lead role in the award-winning indie film 'Shield'. Her impressive resume also includes appearances in the hit heist series 'Kaleidoscope' alongside Paz Vega and Rufus Sewell, as well as the Starz Network series 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' with Patina Miller, under the direction of Mario Van Peebles.

Adisa's voice work can be heard in the Netflix series 'Dew Drop Diaries', an animated TV series produced by Dreamworks Animation, where she brought the character of the Tooth Fairy to life.

As a Broadway alum, Adisa received a nomination for the Ovation Awards for Best Supporting Actress by the L.A. Alliance for her remarkable performance as Eartha Kitt in Colman Domingo's 'Lights Out' at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse. She also played a supporting role in Diane Paulus' production of '1776', which premiered at the American Repertory Theater of Harvard before moving to Broadway.

Adisa's standout performance as John Adams in the 1st national tour of '1776' earned her rave reviews at several esteemed theatres across the country, including the Ahmanson in Los Angeles and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
