Ginger Lynn Allen, a renowned personality, was born on December 14, 1962, in Rockford, Illinois. As a young adult, she relocated to California in 1982 to visit her ailing grandfather, but ultimately decided to stay and make the state her new home.
Initially, Allen found employment as a manager at a Musicland record store in Redlands, California. She resided in a trailer in one of the city's most disadvantaged areas for nearly a year before answering an advertisement for figure models, which led to her first modeling gig the same day and a subsequent layout in Penthouse magazine.
This newfound success sparked her entry into the adult film industry, where she worked from December 1983 to February 1986, starring in a total of 69 films, including numerous re-issues and compilations. Allen's decision to retire from the industry in 1986 was largely due to the work no longer being enjoyable and her limited time off.
In the same year, Allen was approached by the FBI to testify on behalf of Traci Lords, who had been exposed for being underage during her time in the adult film industry. Allen refused to cooperate and was subsequently arrested for tax evasion.
Following her years in the adult film industry, Allen appeared in numerous "legit" films throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, most notably the "Vice Academy" films. She also starred in Metallica's music video "Turn the Page."
In addition to her acting career, Allen is a devoted mother to her son, born on March 24, 1996. She has toured gentlemen's clubs across the country and signed a comeback deal with VCA Pictures in 1999. Since then, she has starred in four new adult films: Torn (1999),White Lightning (2000),New Wave Hookers 6 (2000),and Taken (2001).
