Born in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, Gilbrando Acevedo is a multifaceted actor who has honed his craft through rigorous training at the esteemed HB Studios in New York City.
With a profound passion for academia, he has earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Political Science, as well as a Master's degree in Exercise Science, which significantly informs his performances and approach to character development.
His acting technique is centered around a deep understanding of human motivation and honest self-expression, skillfully utilizing his physicality to bring a palpable intensity to his roles.
In addition to his extensive experience in television, he created, directed, edited, and acted in his own bi-weekly television show, "Philosophy, Art & Fitness," which aired on Brooklyn Community Access Television.
As a seasoned theater actor, he has performed at numerous off-Broadway venues throughout New York, including the iconic New York City Center, and made his film debut as The Vampire Lord in the original independent film "Prey Love Eat," directed by Michael Leavy.
Since then, he has collaborated with Fuzz on the Lens Productions on a diverse range of films, including "Catch of The Day," "Abnormal Attraction," and "Prey, Love, Eat."
He has also worked with multiple production companies and directors on films that have made the film festival circuit and won numerous awards.
In the summer of 2018, he wrote, directed, and acted in his first original story/screenplay, "Meditation: Can you hear the sound of the melodic flute?" The film has gone on to be featured in several film festivals and has earned him the prestigious Best Actor Award at the American Asian Latino Film Festival, as well as the Best Screenplay Writer and Best Director awards at the New York City and State TV, Plays and Films Festival.
Impressively, his film has won over a dozen awards for his personally selected cast and crew.
