Gig Morton was born in the picturesque town of Comox, British Columbia, Canada, where his life was forever changed by the influence of his family. His mother, a dedicated nurse, and father, a skilled builder and building inspector, instilled in him a strong sense of values and a passion for the performing arts. As the youngest of four children, Gig was surrounded by three older sisters who, with their playful nature, encouraged him to become a natural performer.
Gig's early start in acting began when he appeared in a series of Walt Disney hit films, including "Air Buddies", "Snow Buddies", "Space Buddies", and "Santa Buddies". He also made appearances in television shows such as "Psych" for the USA Network and "Fear Itself" for NBC. His big break came when, at the tender age of seven, he landed a role in a stage production of "The Wizard of Oz" after reluctantly accompanying his sisters to an audition.
As Gig continued to hone his craft, he went on to study acting in Nanaimo and Vancouver, British Columbia. He had the opportunity to work alongside many accomplished actors, including Nicole Eggert in the cable feature "Past Lies" and Nicole de Boer in the film "Christmas Town". In "Christmas Town", Gig played a lead role as a young boy who tries to rekindle the spirit of Christmas in his mother, a role that held significant meaning for him as he got to portray a character who believed in the magic of anything being possible.
Gig's experience working with Lou Diamond Phillips in "The Angel and the Badman" was another highlight of his career. He also had the opportunity to work with Callum Keith Rennie on an episode of "Shattered" in December 2009. One of his most notable roles was as part of the main cast of "Mr. Young", a popular television show seen on YTV, ABC Spark, Disney XD, and Cartoon Network. It is a testament to Gig's talent and dedication that he has gained fans from all over the world.
In addition to his acting career, Gig is a multi-talented individual who has studied guitar, tap dancing, ballet, hip hop dance, musical theatre, and singing. He has also passed grade 5 levels of speech and dramatic arts through Trinity Guildhall in London. When not working, Gig enjoys taking dance and parkour classes in Vancouver, while also continuing to research and learn new things. One of his greatest passions is science, particularly astronomy, and he loves nothing more than setting up his telescope on a clear night to gaze at the wonders of the universe.
