Ghazi Al-Tikriti, a renowned Iraqi artist and actor, was born in 1930 and went on to excel in various fields, including cinema, theater, and television, despite lacking formal academic training. His natural talent shone through in numerous performances, and he quickly became one of Iraq's most prominent actors in cinema and television.
In the mid-1960s, Al-Tikriti joined the National Acting Troupe and played significant roles in various theatrical productions, including the notable play "Al-Mutanabbi." He made his cinematic debut in 1955 with the film "Fatanah wa Hasan" and went on to appear in numerous films, including "Taswahan" (1958),"Al-Jazaa" (1970),"Al-Zama'iyoon" (1972),"Al-Tajribah" (1977),and "Al-Aswar" (1979).
In addition to his film work, Al-Tikriti also made significant contributions to television, participating in well-known series such as "Muhitat Al-Thakira" and his last TV work, "Hikayat Al-Mudun Al-Thalatha," directed by Mohammed Shukri Jameel.
Theater was another area where Al-Tikriti excelled, with notable works such as "Hfla Samr" (Samr Night). In 1996, he retired from artistic life, living in solitude, exacerbated by the loss of his eldest son. He passed away in 1997, after a period of illness and seclusion, leaving behind a splendid artistic legacy.
Despite his passing, Al-Tikriti's exceptional performance in "Al-Mas'ala Al-Kubra" remains a source of pride and a subject for study and contemplation for generations.
