Biography

Gerardo Davila, a 1st generation Mexican-American, was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and grew up in Garland, Texas, as the oldest of five children. He was the first in his family to pursue an acting career in the United States.

In his teenage years, Gerardo applied his music background and formed a rap group called Latin Royalty, performing in and around the Dallas scene. After the group disbanded, he went solo as Master G. Later, he attended the University of North Texas, studying Radio-TV-Film, and eventually abandoned his musical aspirations to focus on acting.

At the age of 29, Gerardo began his acting career, starting with theatre at Teatro Dallas, where he worked with his first mentor and friend, Cora Cardona. In 2004, he joined Class Act Dallas, a acting group, where he trained for 16 years under the guidance of his late mentor, Daniel Foster.

Gerardo attributes his success to being bilingual, consistent training, persistence, patience, and dedication. He also credits his mentors, including the late Marta Dubois, whom he met in Los Angeles in 2015.

In the fall of 2019, Gerardo was accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where he trained with Brigit Panet, Andrew Tidmarsh, and Salvatore Sorce. He continues to return and train in RADA's short course program.

Over the last 18 years, Gerardo has consistently booked film and television roles, national and regional commercials, spokes roles, print, and voiceover for video games and anime. His television credits include Chicago Fire, Better Call Saul, Walker, The Purge, Queen of the South, and The Vampire Diaries.

In 2021, Gerardo landed his first recurring role in Paramount's TV drama Long Slow Exhale. He has also starred in recent feature films, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, Root Letter, Adam the First, and Ghoster. Gerardo is currently in pre-production for his directorial debut.
