George's fascination with the world of cinema led him to pursue a degree in Production at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, a city that would soon become a hub for his professional endeavors. As he navigated his academic journey, George's interests took a unique turn as he began working at The Library of Congress, a renowned institution that would eventually lead him to become the leader of the Nitrate Film Vaults, also located in Dayton, Ohio.

During his college days, George forged a lasting bond with J. Todd Anderson, a talented storyboard artist and director who would later gain recognition for his work in the film industry. Anderson, who has had a profound influence on George's career, revealed that the first film he featured George in, he would give him a distinctive flat-top haircut, which he did. George and Anderson have collaborated on several screenplay projects over the years, with the hope of bringing these creative endeavors to life.
