Biography

Prof. George Simon, the esteemed Chair of Communications Media at JPCatholic, has made a profound impact on the institution by establishing the Feature Film Program, which integrates large-scale, hands-on productions into the curriculum every year. As a filmmaker himself, Simon's journey began at Central Michigan University, where he spent two years studying broadcasting and cinematic arts before transferring to JPCatholic to complete his undergraduate BS and MBA degrees.

During his undergraduate studies, Simon created the award-winning short film 'Get Clean', a powerful promotional piece highlighting the sacrament of reconciliation. This early success was only the beginning of his illustrious career. Alongside his brother Joe, an MBA graduate of 2010, Simon founded 'Simon Brothers Productions', an independent production company specializing in narrative film and live-event coverage.

Simon's impressive portfolio has seen him work on a wide range of projects, including content creation for New Evangelization Television, film sets, international documentary crews, and numerous commercial ventures. Most recently, he has completed production on the indie feature film 'Don't Get Eaten', a collaborative effort with his wife and filmmaking partner Melinda Simon.
