George Michael

George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou in Finchley, a district located in the north of London, within the United Kingdom, to Lesley Angold Harrison, a dancer, and Kyriacos Panayiotou, a restaurateur. His father, Kyriacos, was a Greek Cypriot, while his mother, Lesley, had English roots. George Michael's early life was marked by his discovery of fame as a musician, which came about when he and his school friend, Andrew Ridgeley, formed the pop group Wham! The duo's first album, "Fantastic," released in 1983, quickly reached the number one spot in the UK, and Wham! went on to survive for five years, during which time they achieved four number one singles and two number one albums.
