Norwegian character actor, born with a rich familial heritage in the world of acting, as the son of Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen, later Aud Richter, and German actor Georg Alexander, who passed away in 1945. Additionally, he was the grandson of German stage actor Georg Luddeckens and the nephew of six actors and actresses from the Egede-Nissen family.
From a young age, he demonstrated a strong passion for the acting profession, and pursued his education for the stage in America. He made his stage debut at the Søilen Theatre in Oslo in 1938, just a year after securing a leading role in the film "De Vergeløse" (also known as "The Defenceless"),where he played the adolescent Albert, a remarkable debut.
During World War II, he joined the Norwegian military forces in Sweden, and following the war's end in the spring of 1945, he continued his acting career, appearing in both films and on the stage. He excelled in comedic roles, as well as delivering impressive performances in plays by renowned playwrights such as Bertolt Brecht and Eugène Ionesco.
Richter's film work encompassed a range of genres, including melodramas and comedies, with notable roles including the chief of police in the "Olsen-Banden" series. He continued to work in the entertainment industry until his untimely passing at the age of 56 in May 1972.
