Genevieve Hannelius is a multifaceted individual, boasting a successful career as an actress, singer, and entrepreneur. Her most recent notable role was in the Netflix original series American Vandal (2017),while she is perhaps best known for her starring role in the three-time Emmy-nominated Disney Channel series Dog with a Blog (2012),which premiered in October 2012 and was watched by 4.5 million viewers.
Prior to this, Genevieve appeared in the critically-acclaimed reboot of the landmark TV mini-series Roots (2016),which aired on the History Channel in May 2016. She has also recently wrapped production on the independent thriller film Day 13 (2020) and the independent comedy feature Sid Is Dead (2023) from producer Jeremy Garelick.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Maine, Genevieve developed a passion for entertaining at a young age. She began her acting career by participating in local theatre productions, landing the starring role as "Madeline" in "Madeline's Rescue" and "Jenny" in "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". When Genevieve's parents realized her love for performing, they made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles for pilot season in 2008, despite the industry being in the midst of the Writers Guild of America strike.
Genevieve quickly began booking projects, starting with a commercial for the "Aquarium of the Pacific". She soon landed a series regular role on the Bob Saget series Surviving Suburbia for ABC, filming 13 episodes in 2009. Although the series only lasted one season, Genevieve went on to book roles on several Disney Channel hit series, including Sonny with a Chance, Hannah Montana, I'm in the Band, and Good Luck Charlie, as well as the Disney Channel original movie Den Brother and Disney Channel's Leo Little's Big Show.
Genevieve has also lent her voice to several films, working on Disney's Treasure Buddies and Spooky Buddies as the fun-loving golden retriever, "Rosebud", and The Search for Santa Paws and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups, also Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
In addition to her acting career, Genevieve is a tech entrepreneur. She founded "Make Me Nails" in 2013, a company that sells customized nail wraps directly to consumers globally. Her entrepreneurial endeavors have been recognized in several prominent publications, including Seventeen Magazine, Teen Vogue Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, and the Huffington Post. In June 2019, Genevieve launched her eponymous nail polish line, G Polish.
In her free time, Genevieve enjoys writing music, playing the piano, singing, poetry, fencing, horseback riding, ballet, juggling, and acrobatics. She is also an active supporter of "A Window Between Worlds", a nonprofit organization dedicated to using art to help end domestic violence, a cause she has been supporting for six years.
