GJ Hewitt is a multifaceted creative force hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, with a dual role as a Screenwriter and Director.
His inaugural feature film, Cleek, embarked on a festival run in 2018 and, following its success, was subsequently distributed by Shami Media Group on Amazon Prime and DVD in 2019.
GJ's subsequent directing endeavor, the multi-award-winning film 'Mia', garnered over 10 accolades, including Best British Film, Best Film, and the prestigious IAC Diamond Award at the BIAFF. This cinematic masterpiece also received recognition at the B.A.F.T.A-recognized Glasgow Film Festival and The Portobello Film Festival, where it was nominated for the coveted Golden Trellick award. Subsequently, 'Mia' was distributed by North American company Meridian Releasing Group and is currently available for purchase on Amazon.
GJ's creative output continued with the creation of a 90-second spin-off, 'The Rapture Disaster', which emerged as one of the winners at Frightfest 2018 at the Glasgow Film Festival.
Currently, GJ is diligently working on his second feature film, 'The Defender', slated for release in 2023.
Prior to his directorial endeavors, GJ held the position of Casting Assistant, casting for commercials and shows on the BBC and Comedy Central.
