Gary Edward Daniels was born on May 9, 1963, and is a multifaceted individual, exceling in various fields, including acting, martial arts, and film production.
In the late 1980s, Daniels began his acting career in the Philippines, starring in two motion pictures: Teddy Page's action martial arts film Final Reprisal (1988) and the jungle adventure The Secret of King Mahi's Island (1988).
Upon returning to the United States, Daniels continued to compete in martial arts and acted in several action and martial arts films from 1991 to 1994. He appeared in supporting roles in Albert Pyun's Knights (1993),and played adversaries in City Hunter (1993) and Ring of Fire (1991),alongside Jackie Chan and Don Wilson. Daniels also starred in his own action films, including Capital Punishment (1991),American Streetfighter (1992),Firepower (1993),Full Impact (1993),and Deadly Target (1994).
In 1995, Daniels took on the lead role of Kenshiro in Tony Randel's American live-action version of Japanese manga Fist of the North Star, which featured a notable cast, including Costas Mandylor, Isako Washio, and Malcolm McDowell. The film was widely released on television and home video.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Daniels established himself as an action film actor, appearing in a range of films, including Albert Pyun's Heatseeker, Joseph Merhi's Rage, Art Camacho's Recoil, Jeff Burr's Spoiler, Master P's No Tomorrow, Isaac Florentine's Cold Harvest, Joseph Zito's Delta Force One: The Lost Patrol, Bloodmoon, White Tiger, Hawk's Vengeance, Riot, Epicenter, Fatal Blade, City of Fear, Black Friday, Queen's Messenger, and Witness to a Kill.
From 2004 onwards, Daniels took on more supporting roles, including the role of Ed Parker in the Bruce Lee biographical mini-series The Legend of Bruce Lee, alongside contemporary martial artists Mark Dacascos, Ray Park, Ernest Miller, and Michael Jai White. He also appeared in the 2009 live-action film Tekken, and its 2014 prequel, based on the popular fighting game series, alongside Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, and Randy Couture.
Daniels has continued to act in a variety of films, including La Linea, an action-crime film with an ensemble cast, Across the Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright, The Wrong Child, Game of Death, Hunt to Kill, I am Vengeance, Forced to Fight, Rumble, Misfire, and Skin Traffik.
