Gary Barber is a renowned film producer and media executive whose illustrious career has been marked by numerous influential roles within the entertainment industry.
He co-founded Spyglass Entertainment in 1998, alongside his business partner Roger Birnbaum, and went on to produce a string of critically acclaimed films, including the groundbreaking psychological thriller The Sixth Sense, the heartwarming true-story drama Seabiscuit, and the visually stunning period drama Memoirs of a Geisha.
Barber's impressive track record in the film industry led to his appointment as Chairman and CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 2010, a position he held until 2018. During his tenure at the helm of the iconic film studio, he oversaw the production and release of numerous successful projects, including the 23rd installment in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall, and the first installment of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
