Gala Gordon is a multifaceted British producer who has recently been appointed as a Contributing Editor at Harper's Bazaar, responsible for covering West End theatre shows in both online and print formats.
In addition to her new role, Gala has co-founded a production company with the talented actress Lily James, focusing on developing innovative and thought-provoking film, television, and theatre projects.
Prior to this venture, Gala founded her former production company, Platform Presents, with the aim of providing a platform for emerging talent, including actors, writers, and directors, with a particular emphasis on amplifying female voices.
In her quest to discover new and exciting writing talent, Gala initiated the Platform Presents Writers Prize, which attracted an impressive 3000 entries annually from around the world. During this period, she collaborated with renowned writers such as Robert Schenkkan, Kenneth Lonergan, and Mary Laws.
As a result of the Prize, Platform Presents produced the European premiere of Mary Law's play Blueberry Toast at the Soho Theatre, which received widespread critical acclaim. Gala's work was subsequently recognized by Harper's Bazaar, which named her a 2020 Change Maker, while Vanity Fair, Forbes, The Evening Standard, and The New Yorker reviewed her company's projects.
Gala was also recognized by ES Magazine as a woman poised to transform London's West End, and was selected as a UK representative of the theatre industry to discuss the Rebuilding our Capital of Culture initiative, in an interview conducted by Chief Theatre Critic, Nick Curtis.
