Born and raised in the South Eastern suburbs of Naarm/Melbourne, Gabriel's artistic inclinations became apparent at a young age, with a particular interest in creative writing. This fascination with storytelling was further solidified when, at the tender age of 15, he watched the film 'Stand By Me' in a High School English class, realizing that telling stories would be an integral part of his life.
As he entered his late teens, Gabriel made the bold decision to leave school at the age of 17 to pursue a career in acting at the Film & Television Studio International, where he honed his skills in various acting techniques. Following his graduation from FTV, Gabriel landed his first guest role in the Sci-Fi, Netflix drama 'Glitch'.
In addition to his acting endeavors, Gabriel furthered his education by graduating from the arts school JMC Academy with a Bachelor in Film & Television Production, concurrently studying method acting at the Melbourne Actors Lab. This multifaceted approach to his craft has allowed Gabriel to develop a unique understanding of the artistic process.
Recently, Gabriel has collaborated with Zane Borg at Pancake Originals, with the shared goal of bringing untold Australian stories to the forefront. His directorial debut feature film 'Sunflower' was selected by Queer Screen to participate in the prestigious Goes to Cannes showcase at the Marché du film program in 2023. Following its world premiere at the Sydney Film Festival (SFF),'Sunflower' has since been chosen for every major Australian film festival, including the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and the Adelaide Film Festival (AFF).
Earlier in the year, 'Sunflower' was awarded a completion grant from the Queer Screen Mardi Gras Film Festival, a testament to the film's impact and potential.
