Gabe Ibáñez was born in 1971, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey that would span decades and shape the world of computer-generated imagery.
At the Complutense University in Madrid, Ibáñez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Image Sciences, where he founded Extipo, a pioneering association dedicated to the study and development of computer-generated images.
In 1992, Ibáñez ventured into the realm of digital post-production, where he spent eight years honing his skills as a 3D artist and visual effects supervisor in the film and advertising industries.
Since 2000, Ibáñez has worked as a commercial director, and in 2001, he founded UserT38, a company specializing in digital pre-production and post-production services.
In 2006, Ibáñez made his directorial debut with the short film Máquina, which went on to receive the Special Jury Award at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in 2007.
In 2008, Ibáñez directed his first feature film, Hierro, which premiered at the International Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009.
Currently, Ibáñez is working on his next feature film, Autómata, a science fiction movie starring Antonio Banderas.
