Born in the vibrant city of Ankara in the year 1958, Füsun Demirel embarked on a life-changing journey in 1976 when she left her homeland to spend the next four years in Italy. During her initial year in Italy, she made remarkable progress in mastering the Italian language. Subsequently, she pursued her passion for acting by training at the prestigious Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome.
Her professional stage career officially launched in 1980 at the renowned Collective Theatre in Berlin under the direction of the esteemed Vasif Gören. Following her return to Turkey in 1982, she worked with the esteemed Dostlar, Devekusu, and Dorment theatres. Concurrently, she continued to hone her craft on stage while branching out into the world of cinema in 1984.
Throughout her illustrious career, Füsun Demirel has had the privilege of performing in over 25 feature film productions, as well as a select few television dramas. In addition to her acting pursuits, she has also demonstrated her linguistic skills by translating several plays from Italian into Turkish. Among her notable translations are works by the acclaimed Dario Fo and Franca Rame. These translated works have been published by her own publishing house, a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to the arts.
