Nikaido Fumi, a talented actress, has been a prominent figure in the Japanese movie industry for over a decade, accumulating numerous nominations and awards to her credit.
Born in 1994 in Okinawa, Japan, Nikaido first stepped into the spotlight in 2009. By 2011, she had already gained recognition, winning an award at the Venice Film Festival for her role in the film "Himizu". Additionally, she was crowned Newcomer of the Year at the 36th Japan Academy Awards in the same year.
Nikaido's journey in the entertainment industry began when she was just twelve years old. She was scouted by Sony Music Artists after her photograph appeared in the Okinawan edition of "Picture Book Of Beautiful Girls", a free publication featuring local amateur models. Coincidentally, she had always dreamed of becoming an actress.
This opportunity allowed her to start pitching products in advertisements as early as 2007. She also ventured into modeling, posing for Nicola magazine. Due to her busy schedule, Nikaido commuted between Okinawa and Tokyo for work until she relocated to Tokyo for high school.
In recent years, Nikaido has expressed her preference for acting in movies only, stating a dislike for serials. She is currently enrolled at Keio University in Tokyo, where she is studying management and English.
Nikaido's family background is also worth noting. Her father is a Tokyo native who is a skilled cook, and her mother is from Okinawa, who would often take her to the cinema. The actress enjoys eating turnip and steak, although it is unclear whether she prefers them together or separately.
