Biography

Frederick Sullivan, a notable individual, was the nephew of the renowned composer, Sir Arthur Sullivan, who collaborated with Gilbert on the iconic Gilbert & Sullivan works. Interestingly, Frederick's father was Sir Arthur's older brother, Frederic Thomas Sullivan, born in 1837 and passing away in 1877. Following Frederick's untimely death, his uncle, Sir Arthur, took it upon himself to provide financial support to Frederick's widow and raise their family of eight children.

As an aside, Frederick's actual name was Frederic Richard Sullivan, affectionately known as Dickie within the family. Notably, Frederic was the only other family member to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. In 1902, he married Kate Webb, a significant event in his personal life.
