Born to a father who was a banker and a mother who was a producer, Freddie had a unique upbringing that would shape his future endeavors. He attended a Catholic boys' school in London, where he was exposed to a rigorous educational system that would serve as a foundation for his future pursuits.
Despite his early interest in drama, Freddie's experience in the performing arts was limited to weekly classes he took with his older brother Jack and younger sister Millie. These classes not only honed his skills but also provided a platform for him to express himself creatively.
However, it wasn't until he auditioned for The Mummy Returns in 2001 that Freddie gained his first major acting credit. Prior to this, his only notable experience was lip-syncing the role of Danny Zuko in a class production of Grease, where he paid homage to the iconic performance of John Travolta.
