Frank started his career in the entertainment industry as an actor, performing on Broadway and various Off-Broadway shows in New York City. He had the privilege of training with some of the world's most renowned acting teachers.
His journey began when he was first invited to the Actors Studio by Lee Strasberg, where he was initially a professional observer while working on the Joseph Papp Production of "Runaways" at The Plymouth Theatre on Broadway. He is now a lifetime member of the Actors Studio, having studied with many of its esteemed members, including Madeline Sherwood, Shelley Winters, Susan Peretz, John Strasberg, Susan Cohen, Eric Morris, Geraldine Baron, Ernie Martin, Martin Landau, Mark Rydel, Michael Shurtleff, and Michael Shulman, as well as the legendary Stella Adler and Al Russo, who taught him Sandy Meisner's method.
Frank has worked extensively in the entertainment industry, appearing in Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions, industrials, commercials, music videos, and print ads. He has promoted several products, including three billboard campaigns for Budweiser, Newport Cigarettes, and Benson and Hedges Cigarettes.
As a musician, Frank was the lead singer for "Slim," which was handled by Sam McKee of the William Morris Agency. He opened shows for Chaka Khan at the Felt Forum and Michael Bolton at Nirvana, and also toured with his own band, "Frank Reeves and Tease."
Frank's music career continued with his signing to the short-lived "Malibu" on Bobcat Records, a subsidiary of Epic Records. He later relocated to Los Angeles, where he appeared in the prestigious South Coast Repertory's production of "Birds of a Feather," playing the lead role of "Coyote."
As a principle actor, Frank has worked on eight feature films, almost all of which he starred in, as well as two shorts, "The Mule" and "Conditioning," which he wrote, directed, produced, edited, and voiced the lead character. He has also appeared in seven guest star roles on various television shows, including his recurring role on the CBS series "The District."
For the past 20 years, Frank has been directing and acting coaching, guiding the next generation of actors. He is currently in post-production with his short film, "The Man Upstairs," a psychological thriller that he wrote, directed, produced, and edited.
Throughout his career, Frank has worked under two names: Frank Reeves and Frank Rivera. As a director, he will be credited as "Frank Reeves Rivera."
