Frank Powers is a multifaceted individual with a plethora of accomplishments in the entertainment industry. Born in Hornell, New York, he spent his early years abroad in Germany with his mother, Ellen Patricia (Fogarty) Powers, and father, James Wayne Powers, a Vietnam veteran and US Army officer.
Frank's father's military career had a significant impact on his life, and he was exposed to the world of acting at a young age. By the time he was 11, he had already started writing and producing his own movies with his childhood friend, serving as the lead actor in his own productions.
Despite growing up in a lower-middle-class family, Frank's passion for acting was evident, and he pursued his interest in theater at Mount Dora High School, graduating in the class of 1994. After high school, he took a reflective summer, and then made the decision to enlist in the US Army as a means of supporting himself.
Frank spent a total of 20 years and 8 months in the military, during which time he did not actively pursue his acting career. However, his time in South Korea proved to be a turning point, as he met an agent for foreign actors and landed a role on the highest-rated TV show in the country, "Yain She Dae," playing the character of Lt. Birtch, a US Army CID agent.
Following his return to the United States, Frank's acting bug was revitalized, and he began to pursue jobs in film. He started with background roles in films like Terminator Salvation, The Avengers, Lone Survivor, and Men Who Stare at Goats, gradually working his way up to small speaking roles and eventually starring roles in feature films.
Frank's impressive filmography includes starring roles in American War Fighter, Foster Home Seance, Radio Silence, Brothers James: Retribution, and Beaten, for which he won the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of Bruise. In addition to his acting career, Frank is also a producer and director, working with Del La Pour Films.
