Frank C. Turner is a multifaceted individual, excelling in both the realms of acting and iconography. Born in Wainwright, Alberta, he has since made Port Coquitlam, British Columbia his home.
Frank's journey in the performing arts began at the University of Alberta, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1975. Following his graduation, he honed his craft in various theatres across western Canada and Ontario for several years before making the move to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1983.
Since then, Frank has primarily focused on his work in film, with a notable list of credits including Air Bud (1997),Air Bud: Golden Receiver (1998),Air Bud: World Pup (2000),Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch (2002),Addams Family Feud (1999),Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years (1995),Cats & Dogs (2001),Snow Dogs (2002),and The Duke (1999).
In addition to his acting career, Frank has also explored his passion for iconography. He began studying under the guidance of Vladislav Andreyev in 1991 and has since completed approximately 50 icons in the Byzantine tradition for individuals and churches in the Vancouver area.
Frank has also had the opportunity to study at the Mount Angel Iconography Institute, where he learned from renowned instructors such as Charles Rohrbacher, Mary Katsilometes, and Cathy Sievers. More recently, he spent six weeks studying with Father Gianluca Busi from Bologna in 2007.
As a respected iconographer, Frank offers private instruction and has been involved in various projects, including his work with the Epiphany Sacred Arts Guild, of which he was a founding member and served as president for four years. He has also served on the curriculum advisory board of Living Waters College, set to open in Derwent, Alberta.
