Francesco Picone's life journey began on February 9th, 1986, in Pisa, Italy, a city steeped in rich history and cultural heritage. Growing up, Picone's fascination with cinema only intensified, ultimately leading him to pursue a career in the film industry.
After completing high school, Picone enrolled in a movie institute in Florence, where he refined his skills and knowledge in the art of filmmaking. However, it was his practical education that truly began in 2008, when he started working for a television network in Toscana as a director, editor, and videomaker.
In 2011, Picone's creative talents shone through as he wrote, directed, and produced the low-budget short film "io sono morta" (I'm Dead),which went on to be showcased at an impressive 80 international festivals. This early success laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Fast forward to 2015, Picone penned and directed the feature film "Anger of the Dead", a cinematic adaptation of his earlier award-winning short film of the same name. The movie was released in Italy under the title "Apocalypse Zero: Anger of the Dead", as well as in the USA, Korea, and the UK, where it was retitled "Age of the Dead".
Since 2015, Picone has been at the helm of Metrovideo, a production company he founded and manages to this day. With a career spanning over two decades, Picone's accomplishments are a testament to his dedication, passion, and innovative spirit.
