Francesco Carril, born in Madrid in 1986, holds a graduate degree in Textual Interpretation from the Royal College of Dramatic Art in Madrid, earned in 2008. Since 2009, he has led the troupe Saraband, directing four shows: 'Fragments', 'Fedra', 'The best intentions', and 'Life During Wartime'.
As a multifaceted artist, Carril combines his work as a theater director with his acting career. As an actor, he has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned directors such as Miguel del Arco, Eduardo Vasco, Alvaro Lavin, and Josep Maria Mestres. He was a member of the second graduating class of the National Youth Classical Theatre Company and has received accolades for his performances, including the Best Actor award at the International Independent Film Festival Buenos Aires for his role in 'Los ilusos', directed by Jonás Trueba.
In addition to his work in film, Carril has also appeared in 'Los exiliados románticos', again directed by Trueba, in 2015. His formal training includes work with esteemed instructors such as Will Keen, Natalia Menéndez, Helena Pimenta, Eduardo Vasco, David Puerta, and Javier Sánchez in the National Classical Theatre Company, as well as the JCNTC with Vicente Fuentes.
Carril has also conducted numerous workshops in interpretive, physical, and vocal technique, led by instructors like Roberta Carreri, Lenard Petit, Joanna Merlin, Slava Kokorin, Ted Pugh, Fern Sloan, and Ragnar Freidank, among others. He has also honed his skills in Viewpoints technique with Michael Stubblefield, Marco Alotto, Paolo Mannina, and Marika Pugliatti, to name a few.
