Biography

Frances Fisher's remarkable career began with an apprenticeship at the esteemed Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, laying the foundation for her future success. She spent a significant 14 years based in New York City, where she took on leading roles in over 30 productions of plays penned by renowned writers such as John Arden, Noël Coward, Emily Mann, Joe Orton, Sam Shepard, William Shakespeare, Jean-Claude van Itallie, Eudora Welty, and Tennessee Williams.

Throughout her illustrious career, Frances Fisher has garnered numerous accolades, including a DramaLogue Award for Best Ensemble for the American Premier of Caryl Churchill's "Three More Sleepless Nights". She has also made a lasting impact on the stage, originating roles in Elia Kazan's "The Chain" and Arthur Miller's last play "Finishing the Picture". Additionally, she has brought to life characters from two iconic works of literature: George Orwell's "1984" and Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".

Frances Fisher's extensive theatrical experience also includes working alongside esteemed actors such as Annette Bening and Alfred Molina in Anton Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
