Forbes Masson, a talented individual, is probably most renowned for his memorable stint as Rod Morris, a maths teacher, on the popular television show EastEnders, which premiered in 1985.
Initially, Masson was destined to follow in his family's footsteps, entering the gravestone business. However, he decided to pursue a different path, opting to attend drama school instead. This pivotal decision ultimately led him to meet Alan Cumming, with whom he would go on to create the iconic characters of Victor and Barry, two trendy, yet laid-back thespians from Kelvinside.
Following their initial success at the Edinburgh Fringe in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the dynamic duo created a pilot for their own sitcom, The High Life, which was set in the fictional airline, Scotia Air. Unfortunately, this venture was short-lived, and the show was cancelled after only one series. As a result, the double act eventually disbanded, with Cumming opting to relocate to the United States.
Since then, Masson has remained active in the entertainment industry, focusing primarily on theatre. He has not only acted in various productions but has also ventured into writing and directing, crafting two musicals, Stiff, which premiered in 1999, and Mince!, which debuted in 2001.
