As the Second World War erupted, Morrison's life took a dramatic turn. As a Major, he was mobilized at the onset of the conflict and subsequently captured by the Italian forces. Undeterred by his predicament, he engineered a daring escape, finding himself in Switzerland.
It was during his time in Switzerland that Morrison's life intersected with the world of cinema. Léopold Lindtberg, a renowned filmmaker, recognized Morrison's extraordinary story and cast him in the pivotal role of a British soldier who escaped from a POW camp. Morrison drew heavily from his own experiences, donning the very same clothes he wore during his daring escape for the film. This memorable performance, featured in the iconic 1945 film "The Last Chance," cemented his status as a household name in Switzerland.
