Evelina Papoulia's life journey began with a parental obligation, being forced to attend dance lessons at the tender age of 7. Growing up in Athens, the capital of Greece, she graduated from the Higher Professional School "Anna Petrova" with a strong foundation in the arts.
At the age of 20, Papoulia took a bold step, moving to New York in 1991 alongside a friend, to pursue her passion for the performing arts. She enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, where she honed her craft and expanded her knowledge.
During her time in New York, Papoulia had the opportunity to participate in several plays, including the iconic "West Side Story" in 1993. She also joined the Mega Dance Company, further solidifying her skills as a dancer and performer.
Although Papoulia's initial goal was to become an American citizen, she ultimately returned to her native Athens in 1993. This marked the beginning of her successful career in Greek television, where she first gained recognition as the hysterical blond TV persona Marina Kountouratou in the popular series "Dyo xenoi" in 1997.
Papoulia's film debut came in 1999 with a small but significant role in the enormously successful "Safe Sex." She continued to showcase her versatility as an actress, unleashing her sexy side in "In Good Company" in 2000.
In addition to her television and film work, Papoulia has also proven herself as a talented stage performer. One of her notable stage credits includes "Waiting Till Dark" in 1999.
