Evan Williams, a Canadian-born actor, spent his childhood in Calgary, Alberta, where he was raised by his father, an engineer, and his mother, a professional artist. His parents' encouragement and support played a significant role in his pursuit of a creative outlet.
Evan's early performances took place in choir and musical theater productions with his local church, and he even traveled to Moscow as part of a street performance troupe. His involvement in these productions sparked his interest in a career in acting, which was further solidified when he was cast as the title role in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' during his high school years.
He then joined the Summerstock Conservatory in downtown Calgary, where he performed in numerous musicals. In 2004, Evan received the Phyllis Pope Award for Best Performance for his portrayal of the eccentric Rabbi in 'Fiddler On the Roof'.
Evan graduated from Ryerson Theatre School and gained international recognition for his role as Kelly Ashoona on 'Degrassi: The Next Generation'. He has also appeared in various popular television shows, including 'The Border', 'Instant Star', and 'Being Erica', as well as films such as "A Flesh Offering" and HBO's "Grey Gardens", in which he starred alongside Drew Barrymore.
In addition to his television and film work, Evan has showcased his musical talents in the role of Baxter McNab in the series 'Baxter', set in a performing arts high school. He has also appeared in Hallmark Channel's "The National Tree", starring opposite Andrew McCarthy.
On stage, Evan has recently starred as Chet in Sam Shepard's "Cowboys #2" with the Candles Are For Burning Co-op. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
