Éva Magyar, a talented actress and director, was born on July 7, 1961, in the vibrant city of Budapest, Hungary. With a background in gymnastics and classical ballet, she began her journey in the performing arts by studying at the University of Film and Theatre in Budapest. After completing her diploma, Magyar went on to play various roles in major art theatres until 1990, when she landed a leading part in the American film "Understudy" in San Francisco.
In 1994, Magyar founded her own physical theatre company, The Shamans, where she not only performed but also wrote and directed the shows. Her remarkable talent and dedication earned her numerous awards in Europe, the US, and Egypt. Moreover, she taught acting at The Yale University and several other prestigious institutions in the US.
In 2003, Magyar began collaborating with renowned English companies, including The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, The Globe, and The Gate. She was subsequently invited to play the role of Yseult in "Tristan and Yseult" at The Royal National Theatre, where she later worked on several projects. In 2010, Magyar relocated to London, where she continued to work extensively on stage and in film, appearing in notable productions such as "X-Men: First Class," "Let Me Go," and "Overlord."
