Biography

Eva Gabor, a Hungarian-born actress and socialite, was born on February 11, 1919, in Budapest, Hungary, to a family of Jewish descent. Her parents, Jolie Gabor and Vilmos Gabor, a soldier, had three daughters, with Eva being the youngest. Her older sisters, Magda Gabor and Zsa Zsa Gabor, were also actresses.

Eva's early life was marked by her family's escape from Nazi-occupied Budapest in the 1940s. The family settled in the United States, with Eva eventually making her way to Hollywood, California, in the 1930s to pursue an acting career.

The 1950s were a pivotal decade for Eva, as she appeared in numerous films and on Broadway. Her notable roles during this period include The Last Time I Saw Paris (1954),starring Elizabeth Taylor, and Artists and Models (1955),featuring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. She also had her own television talk show, The Eva Gabor Show (1953),and made appearances on popular game shows, such as What's My Line? (1950).

In the 1960s, Eva continued to work in television and film, with notable roles in remakes of My Man Godfrey (1957),Gigi (1958),and It Started with a Kiss (1959). Her most iconic role, however, was as Lisa Douglas, the socialite turned farm wife on the popular television series Green Acres (1965),alongside co-star Eddie Albert.

Eva Gabor passed away on July 4, 1995, at the age of 76, due to respiratory failure and pneumonia, in Los Angeles, California.
