Eugene O'Hare is a talented Irish actor, playwright, and screenwriter. He has gained recognition for his work in major dramas for HBO, Netflix, BBC, Starz, and Sony. Currently, he is writing for the upcoming Netflix UK series 'Grown Ups'.
O'Hare made his Broadway debut at the age of 24 and has collaborated with renowned directors such as Sam Mendes, Ridley Scott, and Alex Graves. In May 2024, he won the inaugural Victoria Wood Playwriting Prize for Comedy, beating 600 anonymous entries with his play 'Portugal'.
Eugene O'Hare has played notable roles in 'Outlander' Seasons 6 & 7 and 'The Diplomat' for Netflix. His performance in 'True West' was praised by the late Sam Shepard.

O'Hare's debut plays, published by Methuen, debuted in 2019 at the Park Theatre in London to critical and public acclaim. One of these plays, 'Sydney & the Old Girl', featured Miriam Margolyes.
In 2023, his new Irish play 'The Dry House' headlined the first spring season of the new Marylebone Theatre in London, starring Kathy Kiera Clarke and directed by O'Hare himself. The production received nightly full standing ovations, with some audience members claiming to have seen the play multiple times, describing its effect as cathartic and profound.
The BBC commissioned O'Hare's first outing as a screenwriter in 2018, and he has received a commission from ITV Comedy, which is currently in development with Element Pictures. He has several original feature film scripts optioned and in development with Northern Ireland Screen, with high-profile talent attached to or performing his work.
