Ethan Philan Randall, professionally known as Ethan Embry, was born on June 13, 1978, in Huntington Beach, California, to Karen and Charles Randall. Prior to his career in film, Ethan made appearances in over 100 television and radio commercials.
As a young actor, Ethan made his film debut at the age of 13 in 1991, and went on to release or film at least two films per year until 1999, when he filmed five films. Throughout his childhood, Ethan grew up in Southern California alongside his older brother, Aaron, a talented musician in LA, and his younger sister, Kessia. In 1998, he purchased his own home.
In 1999, Ethan co-starred in the short-lived CBS sitcom Work with Me, playing the role of Sebastian. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after only four episodes due to low ratings. However, 1999 brought a happy event, as Ethan's then-wife, Amelinda Smith, gave birth to their first child, Cogeian, named after the Latin word "cogeo," meaning "to think over."
In the fall of 2000, Ethan starred as Derek Barnes in the FOX series FreakyLinks, which was shot for 13 episodes but ultimately canceled after its debut. Ethan's subsequent success includes his role as Detective Frank Smith in Dick Wolf's remake of the classic series Dragnet, a part in the cult classic Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and a guest-starring role in the series Numb3rs.
Ethan has been married to actresses Amelinda Smith and Sunny Mabrey, with whom he has a child.
