Biography

Esther Lauren Povitsky, also known as "Little Esther," is a multi-talented American actress, comedian, writer, and producer born on March 2, 1988.

Povitsky relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a full-time career in stand-up comedy and acting after studying comedy at iO Chicago, The Second City, and The Groundlings.

She is the co-creator and star of the comedy series Alone Together, which premiered on Freeform in 2017.

Povitsky has made notable appearances on various TV shows, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Love, and Parks and Recreation.

In 2015, she competed on season 9 of Last Comic Standing, impressing judge Roseanne Barr with her stand-up skills.

Povitsky has also ventured into podcasting, hosting Little Esther's Piecast and co-hosting Brode & Esther with fellow comedian Brody Stevens, as well as appearing as a guest on the network's Ice House Chronicles.

In 2012, Povitsky declined an offer from MTV to create a reality show based on her life as a comedian, citing concerns about the show's invasive nature.

In 2015, Povitsky wrote, starred in, and self-produced the short film Alone Together, which was later adapted into a pilot for Freeform and later picked up to series.

The series premiered on Freeform in 2017 and was renewed for a second season ahead of its January 2018 debut.
