Erick began his acting career after graduating from Hebron High School in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. His first professional acting credit was on the popular CBS soap opera Bold and the Beautiful. He then landed a recurring role as Tommy on MTV's Faking It, which won a Teen Choice Award for Breakout Show.
This experience was followed by his role as Frankie in Center Theatre Group's production of Kimber Lee's different words for the same thing at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. This production allowed Erick to showcase his love for theatre while honoring his proud Mexican-American heritage, and it remains one of his favorite roles to date.
Erick is best known for his portrayal of Hector on CW's critically acclaimed and multi-Emmy Award-winning series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He has also appeared in recurring roles on Call Your Mother (ABC) and Shameless (Showtime),as well as in guest roles on the reboot of Magnum PI (CBS),Castle (ABC),and other shows.
Currently, Erick can be seen as the star of the 2022 Oscar-nominated live-action short film Please Hold, directed by K.D. Dávila, on HBOMax.
